Hello! My name is Katie Masek and I am so excited to be your Junior High Language Arts teacher. I was born here in Lincoln but grew up in Pella, IA. Over the past four years, I have been working towards my teaching license at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. In May 2022, I moved back to Lincoln to be closer to my nephews, and I recently completed my student teaching in both English-Language Arts and ESL classrooms at Omaha Public Schools in December.
In addition to my teaching experiences at UNI, I also enjoyed being a member at St. Stephen’s Catholic student center, where I was blessed with the opportunity to volunteer as sacristan and reader as well as serve in the capacity of catechist to a 2nd grade class. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, getting outside, and baking. I also have a huge passion for reading, and I always have book recommendations ready!
