Hola! I’m Ester Vera the Spanish teacher. I have been teaching for over 25 years in various positions for Lincoln Public Schools. Nebraska has always been my home. We moved here in 1992 from the western part of the state near Scottsbluff, a small town called Bayard. In 2013 some medical issues required me to retire. In 2015 I was ready to return as a substitute teacher. I have subbed in most of the Catholic schools in the Lincoln Diocese. I enjoy subbing, getting to know the students and helping the teachers when they need time off or in an emergency. In the past few years Jesus has called me to long term subbing. Last year I was at Cathedral (my home parish) to teach 6th grade for a semester and then music for the rest of the year. This year and next it is Spanish here at St. Joseph’s. I am blessed and honored to continue teaching Spanish in such a Godly school. God has truly showed me the best part of teaching which is the relationships made with the staff and students.
