Parents are partners with the school in the education of their children. They are, in fact, the first and primary educators – spiritually, academically and socially. We encourage parents to be involved in their children’s education, through cooperation with the school, communication with school staff, support of the learning process at home and serving as volunteers as they are able. Below you will find information that you need to be a partner in the educational process.

School Family Association (SFA)

Parents of children in our school are all important members of the St. Joseph School Family. Our primary mission is to foster the spiritual and temporal education of our children in keeping with: the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, the highest educational standards, the human and financial resources of the Church, the school, and the home. To accomplish this, our School Family seeks to:

  • Promote understanding, cooperation, and mutual support between children, teachers, parents and the religious leadership of our school and diocese;
  • Encourage parents to participate in the development and operation of supportive educational programs;
  • Provide support for the extraordinary fiscal demands of our school;
  • Offer programs related to our goals of a Catholic Education;
  • Monitor and, if appropriate, respond to community, state and federal influences on Catholic education in the context of St. Joseph School; and
  • Create greater appreciation of Catholic education and strengthen the family as a foundation of Catholic education.

Additional information on the current SFA Board and special events can be found on the SFA Page.

School Advisory Council (SAC)

The School Advisory Council exists to provide an opportunity for members of the school and parish community to support the mission of Catholic education in our school. The council provides a “sounding board” for consideration of school policy and initiatives and a forum for members of the school and parish community to ask questions or consider ideas brought forth by the community.

More details, including Council members and information about meetings can be found on the SAC Page.
