Hello, I’m Andrea Scott. I’m thrilled to be the new director for the “Beyond the Bell” after school enrichment program!
This is a picture of me with some artwork I did for Sister Fiat Marie’s class.
Maybe I look like a “familiar face” as I have been at St. Joseph’s as a Para since Dec. 2019. It has been a wonderful experience to get to know our St. Joseph’s students, teachers, staff and administrators.
Bit of background: I’m a former Presbyterian who converted at the Easter Vigil 2013 at St. John’s. Father Johnson conducted my RCIA classes, which culminated in my Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Stephen. We have two sons, Nicholas (age 18) and Thomas (age 16). They are in the International Baccalaureate Program at Lincoln High. We have lived in Hamburg, Iowa (our hometown); St. Louis; and now Lincoln since 1998. Stephen teaches Computer Science at UNL.
My experience working with children also includes: Volunteering for eight years in various roles at Pyrtle Elementary (including a period as an artist-in-residence) and three years as an Assistant Cub Scout Den Leader.
Another fulfilling role was as a Community Support Professional for adults with developmental disabilities through Servicelinc/Region V, from 2006-2018. Mainly it involved helping people find employment.
My hobbies are: scuba diving, drawing, baking, and collecting colorful eyeglasses!! (Your kids will tell you which eyeglass pair I wore on which day! So stay tuned.)
I feel very blessed to be here, and I look forward to getting to know all of you!!
